I’m organizing a local stock photography meet-up for iStockPhoto members. It’s tentatively called LobsterLypse, in the tradition of the “minilypse” events sponsored by iStockPhoto.

The idea is to get a group of photographers from Southern Maine, Portsmouth New Hampshire area to shoot some stock photography. I’d like to get at least one model, maybe two, to meet us all for a day of shooting at some location in Southern Maine.

I’ve already tossed out some ideas, but it’s open to suggestions:

• Beach photos at one of the beautiful wide sand beaches around the York, ME area.
• Hiking/Biking/outdoorsy photos at Mt Agamenticus area
• Shopping/Dining/Lifestyle photos in Kennebunk or Portland areas
• “Lands End” style photos in Cape Porpoise

These are just my own ideas. I’m open to other suggestions.

This is a great way to build your portfolio if you are

• a stock photographer and member of iStockPhoto (or want to be)
• a Model (male or female)

The date is flexible at this point. Someone suggested Columbus Day weekend in October. Not a bad idea, especially for Agamenticus or other outdoorsy stuff.
